Important Rider Information
We’re thrilled you’ll be joining us this weekend for the Tour de Calistoga! To ensure you have a safe, successful, and spectacular ride, please review the important information below.
REGISTRATION
- Vintner’s Pass holders can pick up their registration packets with bike tags and swag bags on Friday (10/31) at the reception at the Brannan Center from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Hors d’oeuvres will be served along with wine and non-alcoholic beverages. Parking is available at the Brannan Center. Note that there will be traffic restrictions in Calistoga due to a Halloween Parade, so it will be best to access the Brannan Center via 3rd St from Fairway or via Berry St from 29.
- Day Pass holders can pick up their registration packets with bike tags and swag bags at the Calistoga Fairgrounds’ Great Lawn starting at 7:30am on Saturday (11/1).
- Non-rider Pass holders are welcome to join at breakfast or lunch at 11:45AM.
- Nearby Calistoga Bikeshop will open for at 8am on Saturday for registrants needing last minute items or to picking up their rental bikes
PARKING
- Parking will be available at the Calistoga Fairgrounds. Enter through Gate 1.
THE RIDE
- All rides start and end at the Calistoga Fairgrounds.
- Breakfast will be served at 7:30am at the Fairgrounds with Equator coffee, breakfast tacos from Ray Ray’s and other breakfast foods.
- While lights are highly recommended, especially this time of year, helmets are required when on your bike
- All riders are expected to ride single-file at all times. This is not a timed race, so safely enjoy the views and get to know your fellow riders.
- The 47- and 76-mile rides depart at 9:00am, with line up at 8:45am to hear from local community leaders and important safety messages about the ride.
- The 20-mile ride departs at 9:30am, with line up at 9:15am. Be sure to arrive by 8:45am to hear from local community leaders and important safety messages about the ride.
THE LUNCH
- Lunch by Clif Family Winery will be served from 11:45AM to 4:00PM.
- There will be multiple wineries doing wine tastings, beer by Mad Fritz and non-alcoholic beer by Best Day Brewing
- We will have Post-Ride Recovery Stretch Sessions at 11:45am for the 20-mile riders and 2pm for the 47-mile riders.
COURSE SUPPORT
- The rest stops will be stocked with cold beverages and chef-inspired nutritious snacks. See locations below.
- Rivian, Mike’s Bikes, Calistoga Bikeshop, Napa Velo, and Bike Monkey will be providing SAG and mechanical support.
- If you need to contact us directly while you’re on the route, please contact our Event Director at (415) 577-3484.
- If there is a medical emergency, call 911. If you’re not sure if you should call 911… CALL 911. Please notify us AFTER you have called 911 using the number above.
THE ROUTES
- Be sure to download the latest routes here the day before as we’ve been making refinements and may make some additional minor changes.
- The 20-mile route will have a rest stop at Girard Winery at mile 8.7.
- The 47-mile route will have a rest stop at the intersection of 128 and Chiles Pope Valley Road that you will pass twice at miles 17.9 and 29.2.
- The 76-mile route will have a rest stop at the intersection of 128 and Chiles Pope Valley Road that you will pass at miles 17.9 and 57.7 with an intermediate stop next to the Knoxville-Pope Canyon Bridge at mile 37.3.
- All riders must take note of rest stop open and close times to be posted on Saturday morning and shortly on this page. For your safety, if you are unable to make it to your rest stops before they close, then please re-adjust your route to ensure you return to the Calistoga Fairgrounds no later than 4:00 PM. We cannot guarantee monitoring stations and SAG support beyond this time.
SATURDAY NIGHT FUN
- Make the most of your weekend by buying tickets for yourself and friends to Saturday Evening’s Epicurean Celebration from 6pm to 10pm in the historic train cars at the Calistoga Depot.
- The event will have elevated comfort food, wine, bubbles, beer, non-alcoholic beverages and live music.
SUNDAY RIDES & WELLNESS
- Join one of the Sunday morning Small Group Rides led by elite cyclists (Sean Bennett & Matt Accarrino), winemakers, storytellers and local clubs (limited spots available for registrants and one registrant guest, so sign up ASAP). Meeting locations will be emailed to signed up cyclists the day before.
- Cycle on your own on the Napa Valley Vine Trail or challenge yourself and friends on the eight Cols du Calistoga (12K’ of climbs). Download the Napa Valley Vine Trail app for maps. Check out special offers by wineries along the Vine Trail.
- Drop-in on a pilates or yoga class at Calistoga Fit (purchase required).
- Attend an 8am cycling nutrition class at Dr. Wilkinson’s by holistic nutrition consultant and educator, Mary Sheila. This session will give cyclists a clear, science-based plan to maintain and build lean mass while riding.
- Note that Daylight saving time will end for the year at 2AM local time on Sunday, Nov. 2, so you get an extra hour of sleep for Sunday’s rides 😀
